Berg (b.1973) is a Norwegian composer, creating music for a broad gamut of instrumentations, He lives in Saltdal, a valley north of the Arctic Circle. His production counts some 200 titles, including chamber music for piano, flute, violin, viola, cello, contrabass, and orchestral works like piano concertos and symphonic poems.
January 2008, a recording of five works by Fred Jonny Berg took place in London. The Philharmonia Orchestra was conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy and Berg. Soloists were flutist Emily Beynon from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and her sister Catherine Beynon on harp. October, 2006, his Flute Mystery op.66a for alto flute, harp and string orchestra was performed by Sir James Galway and National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Leonard Slatkin. |
